Studies on urinary peptides isolated from patients suffering from burns.

چکیده
Dent (1948) first detected urinary peptides in cases of nephrosis using two-dimensional chromatography. Arneil and Wilson (1953) found a simi'ar" nephrotic" peptide spot on chromatograms obtained from the urines of patients suffering from oedema due to other causes, such as burns, scalds, or fractures. Barlow (1952) found that the blood of nephrotic patients showed a high antidiuretic activity. The patients with burns whose peptide excretion was investigated all showed an oliguria of 0.5 to 1 litre a day (Bull and England, 1954). It therefore seemed reasonable to investigate chemical and physical properties of such urinary peptides and compare them with a material of high antidiuretic activity isolated from the posterior pituitary gland.

Evaluation of the effect of IDR-1018 antimicrobial peptide and chitosan nanoparticles on imipenem susceptible and resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from patients with urinary tract infections from ICU
Background and aim: Excessive use of antibiotics has significantly increased resistance to common antibiotics in the treatment of urinary tract infections. In the present study, antimicrobial efficacy of chitosan nanoparticles and peptide IDR-1018 was evaluated against P. aeruginosa isolates. Methods: In the present study, 20 resistant and 20 sensitive P. aeruginosa isolates to imipenem were ...
متن کاملQuality of Life and Associated Factors in Patients Suffering From Burns
Introduction: The advances in the field of burn treatment resulted in increased survival of burn patients, which led to increased attention to the issues associated with the quality of life. The assessment of the quality of life and the associated factors might help in identifying the needs of affected patients and designing suitable therapeutic and supportive programs. Objective: The present ...
متن کاملResistance to Aminoglycoside Antibiotics in Escherichia coli Isolated from Urinary Tract Infection in Iran in 2000-2012: A Systematic Review
Background and Objectives: Resistance to aminoglycosides has become a major problem in the treatment of urinary tract infection due to the extensive use of this antibiotic group. Due to the increased resistance of Escherichia coli to aminoglycosides, this study systematically evaluated the resistance to aminoglycosides by Escherichia coli isolated from urinary tract infection (UTI) in Ira...
متن کاملInvestigation of fimH Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (C640T and T591A) in Uropathogenic E. coli Isolated from Patients with Urinary Tract Infections
Background: Urinary tract infections are one of the most frequent health problems and Uropathogenic Escherichia coli is the major pathogen resulting UTIs. The severity of UTIs is caused by the expression of a large range of virulence factors. In this study, we evaluated the allelic frequency fimH gene, in UPECs isolated from patients with UTIs. This study also aimed to determine the roles of C64...
متن کاملPrevalence of Virulence Genes of Escherichia Coli O157:H7 Isolated from Patients with Urinary Tract Infections in Shiraz, Iran
Abstract Background and Objective: Escherichia coli O157:H7 is one of the most well-known pathogenic bacteria worldwide that can develop severe diseases such as hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). This study aimed to assess the prevalence of virulence genes of E. coli O157:H7 in patients with suspected urinary tract infections (UTIs). Material and Methods: This cross-sectional study was co...
